TowNStow Wheelie Bar Kayak Cart

COMING SOON

Introducing the newest member of the TowNStow family of kayak carts—the YakAttack TowNStow Wheelie Bar. Designed to take the hard work out of moving your kayak, the Wheelie Bar offers a fundamentally different approach to kayak transportation and addresses many of the problems associated with traditional landing gear.

Unlike traditional landing gear that places the weight of the kayak on the hull or through the kayak's track system, the TowNStow Wheelie Bar supports the load on a reinforced axle and rubber bunk pads beneath the kayak. The Track Mounted Quick Connect attaches to the kayak's rear track, but serves as the pivot point for the Wheelie Bar's arms rather than the primary load-bearing connection. The arms rotate around and under the hull, transferring the kayak's weight to the axle instead of the track or topside of the hull. This unique design helps reduce stress on the kayak's track system and hull while providing a strong, stable way to move your kayak.

Adjustabilty

The Wheelie Bar is designed with multiple adjustment points to accommodate a wide range of kayak models, hull shapes, and widths. Four Adjustment Collars control the position of the outer arms and axle, making it easy to fine-tune the cart to your kayak.

Two Adjustment Collars are positioned on the axle, allowing the axle to extend in both directions. The remaining two Adjustment Collars are located on the outer arms, allowing each arm to be adjusted independently. The outer arms feature 10 adjustment positions, extending from 22.5" in Position 1 to 36" in Position 10.

The axle features six adjustment positions, providing a wheel-to-wheel width ranging from 37.75" to 48", measured from the center of one BeadLoc Wheel to the center of the other. At its maximum adjustment, the axle measures 36" between the outer arm connections.

Adjusting the axle width or outer arm length is quick and tool-free. Simply press the Orange adjustment trigger on the appropriate Adjustment Collar to release the adjustment mechanism. Slide the tubing to the desired position, then release the trigger to lock it securely into place.

For added safety, each adjustable bar features a snap-button stop that prevents the 1" bar from being accidentally pulled completely out of the larger section. If the bar is extended too far, the snap button engages to stop the bar from coming out. To continue adjusting the bar inward, simply press the Orange Safety Button on the underside of the Adjustment Collar and slide the bar back into position. The same button allows the bar to be intentionally removed when needed for disassembly.

The rubber bunk pads can also be adjusted along the center axle, from nearly touching at the center to 17.5" outside-to-outside. Loosen the 1" knob on each bunk upright to slide it along the axle or rotate the upright 360 degrees to match the angle of your kayak's hull.

Track Mounted Quick Connect

Attaching the Wheelie Bar to your kayak is quick and simple. The Track Mounted Quick Connect Housings attach to the kayak's track system using two MightyBolts and two 1" knobs on each side. Once installed, the housings can remain on the kayak for quick attachment and removal of the Wheelie Bar.

The pivoting ball-and-socket connections allow the Wheelie Bar to move around and into position beneath the kayak. To attach the cart, insert the slide extending from each pivoting connection into the corresponding Track Mounted Quick Connect Housing. Once fully inserted, flip up the Orange latch to lock the Wheelie Bar securely in place.

To remove the Wheelie Bar, simply flip the Orange latch down and pull the slide out of the Track Mounted Quick Connect Housing. The housings can remain installed on the kayak, allowing you to quickly attach the Wheelie Bar whenever you need it.

The Wheelie Bar requires GearTrac or another factory-installed accessory track around the tankwell/rear compartment of your kayak, with at least 4" of track space on each side. If your kayak does not have track in this location, track will need to be added before installing the Wheelie Bar.

BeadLoc Wheels

The Wheelie Bar includes TowNStow 3-Piece BeadLoc Wheels with durable and grippy rubber tread. These airless tires are designed for use on hard-packed surfaces. The wheels easily snap into place and can be removed in seconds by simply pressing the wheel release button.

On-the-Water Storage

The Wheelie Bar offers multiple ways to keep the cart with you while you're on the water. Depending on how it is mounted to your kayak, the entire assembly can be rotated so the axle rests directly behind the kayak seat, or the outer arms can be shortened to allow the axle to rest on the stern of the kayak.

If you prefer to leave the cart behind, simply detach the outer arms from the Track Mounted Quick Connect Housings and return the Wheelie Bar assembly to your vehicle. The housings can remain attached to the kayak, ready for the cart when you need it again.

Durable Construction

Constructed from UV-resistant polymer, hard-coated aluminum, and marine-grade hardware, the Wheelie Bar is built to withstand years of hard use in the harshest outdoor conditions. The aluminum bars feature a hard-coat anodized finish for added protection against scratching and wear as the telescoping sections move against one another. Made in the USA and backed by YakAttack’s Built for Life™ Guarantee.
