Job Title: Mold Designer / Mechanical Engineer

Reports to the Engineering Manager

Job Summary

YakAttack is currently looking for a motivated Engineer to work as an integral part of an award-winning team that designs and manufactures ground breaking products for the Kayak Fishing Industry.

The Mold Designer will layout mold cavities, optimize mold designs for machining and manufacturing, design modifications for existing molds, and work closely with YakAttack Machinists to create molds. The designer will also be expected to work closely with several other departments to help troubleshoot mold issues during the injection molding process, and use constructive feedback to further improve our mold design process.

The candidate must be detail oriented, eager to learn, and have a background in CAD design. The ideal candidate has a desire to learn and grow into a career as a mold designer and project manager for a mold making team. The candidate will be expected to quickly learn the process YakAttack has developed to begin designing quality molds, while continuing to improve the mold making process and procedures to ensure we continue to make the best tooling possible. The applicant will be expected to work within a team and both give and receive critical feedback to help the department continuously improve. Experience with CAD software (ideally Solidworks) is necessary for the position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design Injection Mold Tooling, using our proprietary process and tooling systems.
  • Manage mold design throughput to ensure the department produces molds in a timely manner.
  • Read and interpret CAD models, drawings, and tooling instructions.
  • Work with Product Design to verify the moldability of new products.
  • Work with Production to machine fixtures.
  • Verify conformance of machined parts to exact specifications using precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges; in order to troubleshoot process issues
  • Maintain inventory levels of molding components such as aluminum, cutting tools, and ejector pins.
  • Maintain documentation of molds and mold metrics used in the department.
  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
  • Perform tasks in a timely manner without compromising quality.
  • Keep work area organized and clean.

Qualifications

  • CAD experience
  • Machining experiences (preferred but not required)
  • Motivated and eager to learn the process YakAttack has developed to build quick-turn tooling
  • Desire to do precision work.

Working Conditions

The job is located at the YakAttack facility in Farmville, Virginia. The Mold Designer is expected to work weekday regular business hours and is willing to work overtime as needed. Occasional travel may be required for training, industry event or to other related facilities (estimated 2 times per year).

Physical Requirements - Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull 50 pounds.

Job Title: Systems/IT Specialist

Reports to the Operations Manager

Job Summary

The YakAttack Systems/ IT Specialist is responsible for the secure and effective operation of all computer systems, related applications, hardware and software.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Evaluating the functionality of systems
  • Implementing and managing security or integrity and backup procedures
  • Testing and modifying systems to ensure that that they operate reliably
  • Managing secure network access for remote users
  • Evaluate technology use and needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades.
  • Research new technology, software and systems and make recommendations for improvements
  • Provide user support
  • Manage and maintain email accounts
  • Work with outside utilities

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of overall experience
  • Understand networking configuration
  •  Solid understanding of computer systems
  • VLAN & IPsec VPN tunnel configuration, and general network troubleshooting (DNS, DHCP, SSH)
  • VMware ESXi version 6.X or 7.X (VCenter & VM configuration)
  • Disaster Recovery procedures and planning
  • Extensive knowledge of software systems in use

Job Title: Customer Service Representative

 

Reports to the Customer Service / Sales Manager

Job Summary

Customer Service Representative works as part of the Customer Service Department team to process orders, assist customer and grow sales.  The Customer Service Representative works closely with dealers and assists outside sales reps to process sales; identifies and develops opportunities for new dealers; assists e-commerce customers; processes e-commerce orders; provides customer service to all customers; participates in new product launches; and performs administrative tasks assigned.

Customer Service Representative must possess customer service skills that include excellent verbal and written communication, organization, teamwork, ability to close sales, administrative competence and positive attitude.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Customer Service Representative is a support role in the Customer Service Department.  This position will participate in the duties assigned to the department; these duties are varied and can change frequently according to business demands:
  • Answering incoming phone calls & transferring appropriately
  • Entering dealer purchase orders
  • Assisting with installation questions
  • Handling warranty claims for dealers & end consumers
  • Helping with placing web orders for customers who are having a hard time getting the order to process
  • Communicating with all groups requesting tournament sponsorships
  • Answering dealer questions pertaining to PO’s pending
  • Helping dealers with returns on items that are not selling, suggesting other products or ways to market the existing products that they are having trouble selling.
  • Assisting end consumers in finding a local dealer in their area
  • Communicate with the shipping & production departments on orders that are being requested to see if they are ready
  • Process sales orders and perform administrative tasks to complete order process and prepare it for production
  • Handle customer issues by correcting the issue with the customer with exceptional service, reporting the issue to the team, and providing assistance to the team in prevention of future occurrences
  • Look for opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell
  • Track input from customers and dealers
  • Participate in new product launches when needed
  • Assist in monitoring MAP on items listed on ecommerce sites to be sure that they are in compliance
  • Compile and track measurables
  • Participate team events, employee events, demo days, show or other events
  • Perform administrative tasks as assigned including receptionist phone coverage, reporting, compiling, copying, data collection, record keeping and any other task assigned by management
