2017 9th Annual YakAttack Tournament Sponsors

What an amazing weekend. We had 193 anglers registered for the 2017 9th Annual YakAttack Tournament and came from all over the east coast and the southeast including New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, and a number of surrounding states making their way to central Virginia. For the first time in years we experienced decent weather with just a pop up thunder storm before the captain’s meeting on Friday and a little rain during the night. Temps were in the 90’s on Friday and the mid 80’s on Saturday with cooler temps in the morning making for some great kayak fishing. The anglers fought long and hard fishing till the very last minute and posted some impressive catches. Here are the top 3 for each division, the slam, and the big bass winner. A big shout out goes to YakAttack team member and local Virginia angler, Rob Choi, for donating his amazing traditional gyotaku fish prints for the trophies again this year. They are amazing works of art and this tournament wouldn't be the same without them. We also want to thank Twin Lakes State Park for everything they do for this event. Their generous donation of the tournament facilities helps keep the overhead low for this event resulting in a larger donation to Heroes on the Water and Project Healing Waters. Check back throughout the week for more pictures and videos from the event.
